OCEAN SCIENCE BOWL

Ocean Science Bowl is a buzzer competition focused on various disciplines of marine science, including biology, chemistry, physical, geology, geography, history, technology, and policy

About The Competition

There are two rounds of buzzers, with a Team Challenge Question (TCQ) round in between. During the buzzer rounds, two teams compete to answer multiple choice/short answer questions. The teams each consist of four players and one alternate (optional). The TCQs are worksheets that your team works together to complete; they are scored based on the number of questions correct. Together, the TCQ and buzzer round scores determine the final score.

There is one official tournament for Osci; Regionals take place around early February and the first place team at Regionals gets to compete at Nationals (around April-May). Scrimmages may be held in the month before regionals. There may also be various invitationals that the team participates in.

For more information, visit the official competition website.
